I think I can get a used Euro Reef cs 6-1 a little cheaper that a new RS 80( I believe that number is correct). Any advise on which way to go? Or any other inexpensive, under $200, skimmer.
Thanks

I'm not sure about sizing but I've seen quite a few of the octopus skimmers recently and they seem to be under 200 for a new one.. I've seen the 110 and the 150 at lfs's for well under 200.. Probably in the 150 give or take price range... Used Er's in the same size go for about the same.. I got my 6-1 for 140 in excellent condition off of craigslist..

Under $200 for a new one? Didn't they used to be like $350 minimum? Or is it a dinky sized one?

rs80 are the five inch diameter body I believe.

Good skimmers can be found for under $200.

Steve, I'd recommend Phongs (Elites)skimmer for you if it will fit in your sump.

Elite,
I'm interested in your skimmer if it's still available. How much room would I need for it? Does it need any special setup?
Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,
My sump is 15x11 and I have plenty of room for it. The skimmer is about 20" tall. No special setup. Just put it in the sump and turn it on.
