Tax Deduction

Hey everyone, both my son and my daughter are going on a mission trip to Honduras this summer. To make a long story short we need to raise $1500 more for them to be able to go. This is a great opportunity for them and we are doing everything we can to get them there but we have a long way to go. If you have some money burning a hole in your pocket (maybe you just got your tax returns?), just need the tax deduction or need to pay penance for some of those stunts you've pulled in the past :) you can make a tax deductible contribution by writing a check to Calvary Temple Church and getting it to me anytime by the end of April and I'll deliver it so my kids get credit for it. Thank you in advance and I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!

PM or email if you'd like to mail a contribution.

(moderators, I wasn't sure if there was a better place for this or if there is a problem with posting this so just let me know if there is)

I am making a trip to the Carribean in Dec. and am also taking donations. ;D ;D ;D Just playin Levi. Honduras seems like it would be a cool place to go. Good luck

Sat next to a Congressman from Honduras on a trip to El Salvador, very cool guy. He explained to me that their new vision for the country is welcome eco-tourism like Costa Rica, and that they are making a strong push to preserve the rainforests, along with the reefs in the Caribbean in order to encourage people to go there.

Your kids will have a good time I'm sure, lot's of monkeys, parrots, huge bugs, snakes, I can't wait to get back down there myself....

Levi,
How old are your kids and what type of work will they be doing?
My son is 12 and my daughter will be 13 in June. They will be working with an organization called Book of Hope. My understanding is that they will mainly be visiting schools to minister to students and hand out the Book of Hope.
"The Book of Hope" should read "I hope they like chicken", or fish, cause they ain't gonna like the beef down there :D. Black beans and rice, chicken, and fresh fruit are the staples, if you're lucky they'll get arroz con pollo made by someones grandma (omg yum). Or if they're real lucky they'll get local carnitas cooked in the traditional fashion, throw meat into cauldron with a few blocks of lard and cook until the lard is gone (triple YUM). Central America is an addictive place, the people are so warm and caring, and the environment is beautiful.
