When setting up a new tank with base rock, does it help anything if I use old water from someone's tank? I'm going to get some new LS too.

I thought there's supposed to be a ton more bacteria on surfaces than free floating in the water.

How about throwing a couple sponges in his tank to let the bacteria colonize?

Is this one of your Aquapods?

Norm, your right but.... theres a ton of plantonic bacteria in our tanks, ~30% less then the ocean but still quite a bit.

Ah, I see. So still worth getting some old water then?

Maybe don't wring out the sponges/floss too much.
