What happens when LPS grow into each other.

Will Favias or Acans kill each other if they grow next to each other?

my acan echinata killed my torch, trumpet and zoas (anything within 2" away).

My red chalice nuked 1/2 of my acan lord (when a snail moved it)

I would say that if they touch, one or both will be hurting.

Yes they will. In my experience favia vs acan lord = favia wins. Favia vs acan echinata = acan wins.

Not sure about favia vs favia as there are tons of species of favias and I don't know the difference. But acan vs acan if they are in the same species it should be ok. I have acan lords touching each other with no ill effects.

Well in my experience, which granted is limited due to me not letting corals touch

Acan Lord vs Acan Lord (nothing happens, they're bros after all!)
Acan Lord vs Acan Ech/Subech (Lords lose)
Favia (underoos) vs Open brain (favia loses)

It's really gonna be dependent on the species I think.

Kong's eye favia vs. baby's breath/sunburst favia - baby's breath/sunburst loses
Kong's eye favia vs. aussie micro (M. amakusensis) - aussie micro loses
Kong's eye favia vs. aussie acan (A. lordhowensis) - aussie acan loses
Kong's eye favia vs. alien eye leptastrea (L. pruinosa) - alien eye lept loses

The Kong's eye has never lost a battle before; long sweeper tentacles helps.

Thanks! Mostly I was wondering if I could glue multiple favias on a single rock and they would eventually grow into each other. But looks like this wont work.

My chalice (the red one I put in DBTC) beat the crap out of my acan lord lol. The chalice didn't have a scratch on it. THe lord was mush.
