Up to you. Some sponges grow extremely fast, if yours is absolutely taking off I'd probably get rid of it. Otherwise, I'd just let it be

Blue sponge. I would keep it. Or remove and put down in your sump.

I have very little of it, noticed it on a few frag plugs. If I find more I can collect then and add to the sump. ty!

I would save some of it for a different location
But to kill it, you pull the plug and brush the sponge off and rinse with FW
The combination of air and FW should kill the sponge, IF undesirable
