Well some of you know that I lost my giant squamosa clam, but I didn't have the heart to throw the shell away. So I am asking for suggestions on what to do with it. Its 7 inches tall and about 12 wide. Let me know what you think.

Keep it. I have heard you can put a new clam into the shell (no wait...hear me out). When the new clam puts it's threads out it will attach to the new shell. You can move the clam around the tank without damaging it.

Set it into your rock work concave side up for a cool shelf. Then put some LPS or a bunch of zoo frags in there.

No, no... you have to use scallop shells for bras :)

any more thoughts, the shell is still one piece since I haven't seperated it yet. Its really large to put back in the tank, but I will keep it in mind.

(shell)ac it and put in on your desk!

Use the two halves as decorative pieces on your canopy or stand!

I'd put it back in and mount some GSP on it, or something that encrusts and then just let it become part of the rockwork.

There you go. Split the shells, mount on nice pieces of wood - bookends for your library of reef books :)

Yikes!

...and sell them for 550... uh, clams :)

You could make better ones than these:

Norman, the shell is a squamosa clam shell, lots of shutes on it. Not as nice as a smooth clam or scallop shells...... : )
