Neptune Aquatics

Hello to all!

Just wanted to say hello! Totally new to reefing and i'm slowly getting my setup together. Got a brother and cousin with awesome tanks who are helping me and now I got this great forum. So far I bought brand new stuff, got a 37 gallon column tank, a 10 gallon aquarium for my sump (because i can't fit anything bigger under the stand), sca301 skimmer, taotronic lights and am ready to drill my not tempered tank for an overflow! Many more things to buy before starting up. Pics to follow once my cycle is completed! just wanted to say Hello and thanks for the awesome info!!

Thanks for the welcoming. I'm going with a centered overflow box ($15 on eBay) does 800gph. I'm going to drill two holes 1 inch apart with 1 inch bulkheads. Excited but scared to drill these holes but after hearing a lot of fail stories about hob overflows, I've decided to take the plunge.

That's a good decision and I agree HOB overflows are not to be trusted and they don't look all that great. I asked about the overflow design because I'm in the exact same position except my job's a little easier since I'm drilling acrylic...

Going to tune in for progress :)

Thanks for the warm welcomes and awesome info for starting up my tank. In a nutshell....... Got the tank cycling now! Drilled the holes successfully, plumbed it herbie style, got my 10g sump going, got sand, rock and the water flowing, pumps and fans going and now just waiting....very excited!!!
