Internet at our Cabin

Just got back from 5 days in the redwoods at the Russian River at our cabin. Nice and relaxing, but we don't have internet there, yet. It kinda drove us crazy. Sprint reception was weak so our Evos had trouble getting on line. The cabin is used off and on 6 months of the year, so we would want an internet service we could turn off for the six months when we don't use it. We got an offer from Comcast which we could terminate in 6 months, so that might work. Any other ideas? We rent the cabin out, so we would want it available to renters also.

It's a 3 bedroom cabin 3 blocks from the Russian River in a community called Summer Home Park that has it's own private beach and swimming hole. We rent by the weekend or week, if anyone is looking for a summer getaway JLMK.
Thanks

It probably depends on how far you are from the phone coloc. In a rural or semi-rural area you are likely too far away for DSL. Cable modem may be your only realistic choice. Comcast does have a program for part time residences. You tie your home account (assuming you have Comcast at home) to the vacation property and get one bill and two services. The second service is usually substantially cheaper than stand alone service.
