I thought there was actually something to cooking crustaceans when they're alive, I mean why else would those crab/lobster guys spend all that precious space on boats to keep them alive until they get back to the docks?
 
I find that quite cruel. It is one thing to eat fresh food, but a sad reflection on those who choose to torture an animal just for curiosities sake. That poor fish shoud have been killed quickly before slicing it up for sashimi. It would have made no difference in the "freshness".
