I was at aquarium Concepts and saw this in action on one of their frag tanks

A bit expensive but looked nice. Tempting to DIY one...

They travel a bit fast IMO/IME. I've worked at a place where they are used. FWIW PFO 400w Pendants hurt after hitting you multiple times in the exact same spot :)

Yeah, there popular, in the .....um...."HYDROPONICS"... yeah...ahem...

You can use one light, lower energy consumption...
AND increase light across a wider range "linear footage"

The stuff growing dosent seem to mind too much.
I knew a guy in SF that has a "Medical facility"...ahem.. that grows "Medication" in 12' rows with ONE 250w MH
They do as well as one plant just sitting under the light.
Do not increase the daylight time though, youd think it would compinsate for the time, missed, but it dosent help.

Id say PERFECT for a Frag system, but not so good for a display..lol

well i mean if you only had (for example) one 250MH light, going along a 8' tank
It would have one bright spot at a time, and the rest dark :p

I dont think MARVELL, or (insert any Commercial display) or Luxor in Vegas would like that.

Now if you had lighting, say 20k MH on all the tank (stationary) on the tank, and a really bright 10k to get some extra growth going back and forth, well maby then it would look ok.

Not arguing here, just trying to set up what i had meant to say above

It really depends on the setup.

That website is funny....
.."Again, this translates into lower operating cost through higher yields."
I for some reason dont think there talking bout tomatoes

I've got a six foot rail if anybody has a use for it
[/quote] whole setup (rail, and mover), or just the rail part?
interested.

did you use this on your planted marine tank?

That's blazing fast.......if you're talking plate tectonic movement :p

So fast Tony would have to rig a laser to measure it :D
