FTS (Jul 2017): 9th year anniversary for this little unfiltered tank:

Oh, and I'd like to thank Photobucket for not allowing 3rd party hosting...and asking $399 for the function to be restored

    FTS (Dec 2015): 7-1/2 years...still put-putting along:

FTS (July 2015): 7 years...and counting. Still same ol' non-filtered simple setup:

FTS (April 2014): Reclaimed much of my sand bed and can now clean the glass/vacuum more easily:

FTS (Feb 2014): Tank survived unattended for 2 weeks while I was on vacation with no fatalities (thank goodness). After a week or so of pampering it's back up to it's former condition :)

FTS (Dec 2013): Finally trained the Clowns to pose properly...the silly Hermit way up top, not so much ;)

In brief, this is a 12g AIO Cadlights 'mixed reef' that I wanted to run as simply as possible. It has no mechanical or chemical filtration, no skimmer...just the stock return pump, device, a heater, a thermometer and a pair of 'Pet Bottle' ATOs. Saturated Kalkwasser is used to supply calcium and maintain alkalinity. Only additive used is Kent Iodine (a few drops once a week). Lighting is a DIY LED setup using mostly LEDGroupBuy components.

    FISH:
    • (1) Yellow Lined Cleaner Gobies
    • (2) Green Banded Gobies
    • (1) Two-Spot Bimaculatus Blenny
    INVERTS:
    • (1) Pederson's Anemone Shrimp

    CORALS:

    Acropora:
    • 'Northern Lights' Granulosa (A. granulosa)
    Montipora:
    • Reefkoi 'Superhero' Montipora (unknown species)
    • 'Sunset Montipora' (M. danae?)
    • Tyree Orange Setosa (M. setosa)
    • 'Ultra Blue' Digitata (M. digitata)
    Mussidae:
    • Blastomussa wellsi
    • Micromussa lordhowensis
    Others:
    • Metallic Gold Pavona (Pavona maldivensis)
    • Green Pavona (Pavona sp.)
    • Pink Stylocoeniella sp.
    • Leptastrea (Leptastrea pruinosa) - Standard neon-green center
    • Leptoseris (Fallen Hrozon, Molten Lava, Strawberries and Cream)
    • Assorted Ricordia Mushrooms (Ricordia yuma, Ricordia florida)

That is a such a cool thing. I haven't seen many ric covered tanks. Makes me want more than the one I have thats for sure.

When I started up I ordered a 'Ric pack' from Coral Morphologic (now 'Reef Scapers'). Highly recommended!

Ricordia overload! Thanks. I'll have to thin these out one of these days.

Insane tank! And 5 years old to boot. So impressive. That was a great write up and photo journal. Seriously impressed :)
