Also, is it ANY plastic? Or plastic with metal or magnets inside? I know vinegar causes rust/magnet expansion, but would it have adverse affect on plastic front cages of power heads or gyre cages/blades?

I use Millard Citric Acid and get it from Amazon.

Whole Foods should also sell it in the baking isle. I’ve seen at the WF in SF

I think if the Vortech with this stuff on it, the magnet already blow up.
