If you cannot afford daily manual testing, I recommend you get one of the automated kh testing in the market like khg,khd or trident..
With sps dominat systems frequent alk testing is a must I feel...
Also there is a whole new level of sps keeping when you have rock solid alk value day over day...
Sorry for your loss man, break off what's I'm good shape and regrow it..

Sad day. My tank sprung a leak this morning. I cant say that I am totally surprised. I knew Deep Blue tanks weren't the highest quality but I took a gamble and paid the price. Fortunately it leaked from a seam close to the top of the tank so I only lost about 5-10 gallons of water but it was enough to throw in the towel. I had a 25 gallon lagoon set up that had been cycling (but somewhat neglected) for a couple months so I was able to throw in some of the pieces I wanted to keep. Not even sure they'll do well in the tank since I was only cycling and hadn't been testing/maintaining the tank. It's been a fun run with this 80 gallon and really sad to see it shut down given all the work that was involved but frankly, I could use the break.
