You Know Your Clownfish is Lazy When...

Took my growout contest frag to my classroom tank and had the opportunity to see some tanks after lights had gone out. I see my male clownfish snuggled in his closed anemone, sticking his head out to tend to the clutch of eggs - haha. Lazy or smart?

Super cute!

One thing that was interesting from a biology standpoint... my female clown got into a scuffle with a pygmy angel (which I gave away since) and ended up blind in one eye. It’s been maybe 1.5 years and the outer part of her eye finally healed and became clear again so that she can see and go after food on both sides again. I thought it was interesting that the outer part of a fish’s eye (the “goggle” part? That protects their lens? Have no clue about fish anatomy) can heal or regenerate, but over a really long timescale.

My male clown has a habit of hiding in the middle of the frogspawn branches where the female can’t find him (she’s too big to get in there) heh.
