Going to start it as a softy tank at first and then build up to more mixed reef over time. I’ll make contact for coral once we get the tank established.
Coral Club Progress. Students got the display tank cover done. Worked on some Aqua scape ideas. Set up the Quarantine Tank station. Modified and cleaned up our RODI barrel.
Last week the students got the tank properly placed and leveled. They have cleaned the glass and acid soaked all the plumbing. Water tested the tank and sump. No leaks
Students ran a booth at Club Day in late September. We got 48 student sign-ups. Reality is we have a solid 18-20 active members. We’ve had two formal meetings and then members come in at lunch and after school to work.
I’m a high school teacher over in Alameda and I’ve started a Coral Club with 18 students. I really just want to be a guide and have the students get all the hands on experiences. The goal is to introduced them to the hobby and have them feel confident that they could start their own tank...
