Will really appreciate that @Darkxerox .. I am using MicroBacter7 which may last about a month.. will DM you once I am ready to pick that up from you, thank you again for the offer! and @Coral Hub (Nathan) as well for the product!
Thanks @PjFish for detailed message.. MB7 does look similar to what Microbe Lift achieves.. its highly regarded on R2R.. Coral Snow method listed here: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/extreme-water-clarity-and-cyano-eradication-made-easy.916381/ mentions using the same.. Since I have it, I...
woah, this is so awesome and looks so easy to achieve.. thanks for sharing! I will try it right away
It's just 3 months old, instructions at the back says use within 1 year.. and it didnt require refrigeration, so it may still be ok..
I have a plan I believe: Wet skim + Carbon + Filter Floss +...
during hypo, was changing water to bring the salinity up and down.. maybe 5% every other day? Hvnt changed water after hypo, but something on my to-do list..
I also got reminded that I ordered Microbacter7 during thanksgiving sale but the package was left unopened in Garage as I didnt want to...
Yeah I do feed frozen, I was asking if we shall rinse the frozen food before adding to the tank or just feed as is.. PE Mysis instructions suggests if clouding is an issue, rinse it before use
I use primarily white on my tank, when seeing side to side, even without lights, the tank looks yellowish
I just put them in a bag.. I feel everytime I feed frozen, the clarity reduces.. Oils? do folks rinse frozen before feeding? heard rinsing can wash away essential nutrients.. I have a 1350gph pump, using it at 50% power, so about 675gph (mostly to control ich)
About 150 gms Carbon, changed once every month.. I know some folks suggest to change it sooner, but GPT and ROX instructions say it can last easily for a month if not more.. Its a new UV bought during thanksgiving sale
Thought I should keep my build thread updated.. had an ich/flukes outbreak in DT.. tried Copper treatment on Clowns and Blue tang for 1 month, but as soon as I added them back to the tank, Blue tang started showing symptoms again! Figured Ich has to be eradicated from the main tank! Went Hypo...
Since it’s both the tanks having the same issue, I would think it’s something at the breaker/outlet level instead of equipment level.. that DJ style power strip is a huge suspect for me
Sorry to hear that Michael.. just thinking if this could be the black power strip that’s the issue here.. swapping it with the white ones will be a quick test.. they trip for a reason, to save you and your home.. and I saw you have mentioned about electrical in the past as well, so just want you...
Looking good.. Anything between 2.0 to 2.5 is therapeutic, I personally treated my blue tang at 2.25 Copper Power, that gave me more margin for error either ways.
Have you researched if Puffers and other fish in the tank are ok with Copper treatment?
