Rainford Goby Too Much Flow?

Is it possible to have too much flow for a Rainford Goby?

I picked one up last week from High Tide Aquatics but it doesn't seem able to handle the flow in my tank. It comes right out when the powerhead is off, but really gets pushed around when it's on. Eventually, it settles in a still area underneath the rocks.

My back of the envelop math has the flow around 125x turnover (I'm also bad at math). Tunze turbelle 6040 dc that peaks at 1,190 gph and I run it alternating between full and half strength in a 7.5 gallon tank.

I also have a bare bottom and it seems to do better when it finds a patch of diatoms or algae to stick to. It seems to struggle more with the clean glass. IDK.

Is this a transition phase that it will get over as it gets used to the environment? If I need to rehome this guy, I'd rather do it sooner than later. If choosing between corals and fish, it's the corals.

It also doesn't seem interested in the spinulara brine shrimp I got for it. It seems to be hunting pods, but I don't know if that's a long term solution in my tiny tank.

Thanks!

I have a tiny one from Biota in my 65g bare bottom with at least 100x turnover. he is a little timid in the first week, now roaming around. I don;t see the flow bothering the little guy. Even my 2 tiny dragonets don;t mind the flow.

Ask Kenny what it was eating at the store and feed it after leaving the flow off for a couple minutes so it feels comfortable. It's not unusual for a fish to stay close to a hiding spot for a couple weeks while it gets used to the new environment.

I've never kept one without sand since they like to sift it, so not surprising it gravitates to your detritus. Could try some calanus or frozen copepods as food.
