My first Fish copper Qt treatment

I stayed at 78 in qt tank. 210gallon tank is at 81-83 trying to speed up fallow period. But ai decided if I add observation period of 30 days. I might as well just run thr full 72days fallow.

I guess a similar question is would you personally just go with the biobrick and put the Pic elbows back. Or take a chance with the rocks. More just seeking your opinion.

Only kinda concern was during qt I change 90/95 % of the water each week. Would fish be find for 3+ weeks without a water change is what I'm kinda stuck on. Granted I leave may 4th through may 28th. So I kinda have a few weeks to trying to semi cycle the tank.

Never treated for flukes. I've heard mention of them but don't really know what they are. Will have to look it up.
Did you measure any tank parameters each week to gage the levels then you might have an estimate how long can go before water changes..
Ideally if you could have a barrel or two of heated water at the ready and if a nearby reefer or service is willing to do weekly water changes or so that may be an option?
Otherwise what Wil was suggesting may be your best bet..

I honestly didn't memasure them beyond 2 times. I just changed 95% water a week.

I do my doses 7 days apart - I do 3 doses. Make sure when dosing prazi you have good O2, iit can reduce oxygen in the water. I keep an air stone going the whole time.

Does it need to be in a tank without copper or very low copper?

I stopped making rodi water found out my resins is spent again getting tdos and silica showed on icp. So need to order some new resins. I'd have to turn it one if I need ti change water. Hoping to get new filters in and clean barrels and dump all ato water for new water this coming week

Consensus is only dose prazi + therapeutic levels of copper in emergency. Else do them separately. Low levels of copper should be fine, but at that point why not just do without any copper.
Some have doses GC with copper. GC is a lower dose of Prazi (plus metro).
If moving to a new tank, just does that tank with prazi, watch O2 (prazi can trigger bacteria blooms). But it’s only effective in the water column for about 24hrs. Wait a week dose again. I watch my ammonia badge to see if I need to do a water change I don’t change just “cause”.

Got it. Asked because it could possibly ve small traces of copper in tank after large water change.

Week 2 of quartine 2.0

1.0 = copper power
2.0 = prazi pro.

Week one addtion of prazi pro no side effects were noticed. Also Week one of 95% water change and running CupriSorb in hob filter in addtion to filter pads and carbon.

Fish still looking good. I decided to forgo the weekly water change this week. Seeing ammonia alert badge still showing in the clear. As this prazi pro treatment would be finished in about 4-5 days (when it should no longer be in the system.) at that point I will do another 95% water change.

Fish in qt. If I'm not crazy it looks like the fish have gotten slightly bigger especially the puffer.

I finally got around to adding the rocks that were previously bleached almost 2 weeks ago. They were completely dry no smell of bleach etc. They were previously in the 210gallon I only bleached them cause they were covered in lyngbya. I also added a bio brick from my main sps tank to get the tank seeded. I may even add another in a few days.

The plan will be to host the qt fished into this tank where they will reside while I'm in Spain for 3 weeks. The tank they are currently in will be bleached out and santized once they are moved to the other tank next door. Hopefully with this extra step they will be fine for 3 weeks without a water change. On my return if all looks well I would plan to maybe introduce them or my other fish from the nem tank to the 210gallon.

I plan to break down the nem tank and move the main rock structures from into the 210 as well.

Not the slightest sign of ick in any of my 3 of 4 tanks tanks currently housing fish.
