Great videos. TFS. Don't mean to hijack your thread, but can you tell me how you decide about coral placement? Is it just SPS high / softies low, and what looks good where? Or do you take chemical warfare into account?

Felicia's 30 Gallon Seahorse Tank - Seahorses have arrived!!!

Great new pics. And I love the christmas tree worm rock. I had never seen one of those before, and now I want one. :D

    Diver's Paradise: Felicia's Scuba-Inspired 30 Gallon

Loving the coral on the back wall of your tank. What is it? And how did you get it to stay?

    Bumbling newbie's 65g mixed reef

My GSP was looking good, so I bought a couple more frags. I haven't dipped any of them yet, but will do so before putting them in the DT. They're all still in the QT, mostly because I'm a little nervous about dipping. Here they are in full light. And at night.

    Is it weird that...

As I read more about them I'm getting mixed info. It seems like at lower numbers they're great cleaners. But as the number of them reaches some (IDK) critical mass (?) they start attacking coral. I think I'll just leave little Tortilla in the QT for now.

I'll keep an eye on him then. He's still in the QT.

Thanks you guys. I did find a bit more info on these little asterina, and as usual you're absolutely right. This little guy (we call him Tortilla) is still alive, but not traveling around the tank as fast as the first night. I hope he's okay.

OOOO, really? It's in the QT right now. Should I try and move it to the DT?

    Is it weird that...

I posted this on my tank journal, but I'm hoping for a quick reply so will post here to. I found this little guy, must have hitchhiked his way into my QT on that chunk of rock I put in yesterday. Anyway, it looks like a tiny starfish. Are they safe? And if so, what should I feed it?

    Bumbling newbie's 65g mixed reef

Yesterday I also bought this piece of rock because of that gorgeous coralline on it. And today I found this cute little thing crawling around my QT. well, I hope it's cute. It looks like a little starfish. Is it harmless, or should I get rid of it? I know it's alive because it is VERY mobile.

Oh yeah, the GSP did already start opening up. And thanks, I will keep it on a dedicated rock.

Huh, that makes sense. I bet you're right. How could they know if the fish died of old age? Wow, that is some great advice. I love the coralline, but I couldn't care less about the rest of the rock. I will do that now.

    Easiest mixing salt!

Huh, I haven't been mixing for several days. It has always been at least 24 hours though. I hope that has been long enough.

    Easiest mixing salt!

I decided to give this salt a try, ordered some last night. I still have half a bucket of the other stuff, so it'll be a while before I try it. The biggest reason I want to try this salt is that, like you I'm not good about mixing my salt before adding it to the water.

Bummer! I didn't know you were so close. I bought a couple different dips. I found iodine and Revive. But thanks so much.

I took a tour of my closest LFS today. Went to Aquatic Collection in Hayward, Neptune Aquatics in Milpitas and Aquarium Concepts in my little ol' town of Dublin. I bought a few more pounds of live rock at AC and redid my rock... again. I think I'm finally happy with my rock work.

Okay, I forced muself to take the plunge. I took a mini tour of the closest LFS today. Went to Aquatic Collection in Hayward, Neptune Aquatics in Milpitas and Aquarium Concepts in my little ol' town of Dublin. I bought a frag at each of the first two places. I got them home, and realized...
