    Pulsing/hairy sinularia polyp extension

No, it’s a spotted anemone shrimp. I got it from Alyssa’s Seahorse Savvy.

    Pulsing/hairy sinularia polyp extension

Just in case anyone was curious, it either shed or “hibernated” and then came back with thicker longer polyp extension this past week.

Clownfish with a puzzle piece pattern

That looks like a snowflake clownfish . It’s actually a black ice snowflake clownfish. Here’s the youtube video as the image you have is their thumbnail in reverse. Algaebarn has this exact designer.

    Pulsing/hairy sinularia polyp extension

Hoping it’s just time I need, but this one is giving no hints if the polyps even have the potential to be “hairy'. I can see a lot of people have frags that still retain their full polyp tentacles.

DBTC: UC Japanese Koji Wada Pink Nepthea

I dream of running my tank that white. No blues? Did you have issue with algae?

DBTC: UC Japanese Koji Wada Pink Nepthea

Koji wada is known to be a slow grower. I got one 4 months and it’s barely grown half an inch. I got so impatient I got a colony when I saw one at Aquatic Collection.

    Pulsing/hairy sinularia polyp extension

Mine is ultra low nutrient, with significant macroalgae, but fed phyto at least once a week, salt is red sea pro coral. Do you think it’s a phosphate/nitrate low issue?

    Pulsing/hairy sinularia polyp extension

Seeking advice or experience from those with pulsing/hairy sinularia or similar coral. Recently bought this pulsing sinularia a month ago. First photo is the colony I got it from. Second photo is my frag. Why doesn’t my frag (which is pretty large 5inches tall) have those lovely polyp extensions...

Good fish/coral stores in San Jose?

Oceansgarden is fantastic. Really great customer service and they even threw in a free coral to try. I can also attest to Violet aquariums looking much more put together on my visit last month. I spotted one dead fish that got caught between the egg crate dividers and the glass, but not anywhere...

Good fish/coral stores in San Jose?

I like Aqua Lab Aquaria. Good pricing on livestock and a rewards program. The might have the best pricing if they have what you’re looking for. They also have an online store for equipment.

    Free photon or mocha clownfish

Giving away a cute little tank-raised clownfish. It’s either a mocha or photon oscellaris. 4cm long. LFS doesn’t believe it’s a darwin, so it’s unlikely to turn all-black. Has been solo in the tank for a few months so assume that it’s female. Trained to take dry foods such as x-small TDS pellets...

Devil’s Hand with a green tint. How to discourage the green.

    Thanks for doing that!

Devil’s Hand with a green tint. How to discourage the green.

Yeah, I’m considering trading the coral. If I could get the coral to look like that, forest green, that would be the perfect solution. Unfortunately I’ve already invested in the AI prime which only has the cool white and moonlight channel to change the whites. I’ve almost certain I can’t...

Devil’s Hand with a green tint. How to discourage the green.

Yes, it’s AI prime 16HD. I should clarify, it’s aesthetically white when you look at it with the naked eye. In actuality, it’s 20K spectrum using mostly blues. But the white is set high to the point of still maintaining 20K so to the eye it overpowers the blue and makes the tank look white...

    Red stuff acropora tips?

There’s a test you can do as there’s two types of cyanobacteria. Take the red slime, put it in a cup with tank water and add 1ml of hydrogen peroxide. If it turns green and the water turns red, it’s standard cyanobacteria that isn’t effected by chemiclean. (Add 1ml per 10g nightly for 10 days)...

Devil’s Hand with a green tint. How to discourage the green.

I recently acquired this huge (for a 7g tank) colony that I thought was more white/beige but is actually purple with a neon green tint under mostly white light above (looks blue in photos but is not). My tank is running mostly white light and I’m not interested in the neon colors this coral is...

This is why I don't buy online

This irks me to no end. I’ve had a few experiences where an online retailer wouldn’t show me the coral under white light or show a real photo of the actual coral. I hate the guessing game.

Which fish should I add to the Tank?

Just aesthetically, a touch more of blue for your fish collection.
