Those are definitely not planaria. Hopefully they are just baby snails. :)

One thing I do before water changes is to blast the rock with a turkey baster to get some of the detritus up into the water column and then slurp that out. If you are going to run lights all night, better to have lights in the sump/refugium for the nighttime period (so a reverse cycle basically).

I just ordered an ORA Yellow Watchman Goby. More expensive than wild-caught, but I'm trying to make my tank 95% sustainable (the 5% is for hermits, snails, shrimp).

I have a suggestion regarding beginner corals. I feel that maybe some xenia should be removed from the beginner list. I once got an awesome Red Sea pompom xenia which I loved. Eventually, as with many xenia colonies, it crashed. I would like to see people bringing in xenia, as it can be tricky...
