    Malaysian Acros?

Any stick head interested in these ridiculously priced sticks? 1” frag will run you about $150-$250? These are not in my tank. But, I have an opportunity to pick up some this week if there’s serious interest.

Not sure on the grade. @TheRealMadMax would probably know. Yes, I’am fully aware of rust on stainless. Even 316 can still rusts.

Just found sand in the seal of my RSR250...

That’s what I do with all my tanks also. If there’s a hump on the floor, the system must be shimmed high enough to clear it to avoid stand deformity over time.

Just found sand in the seal of my RSR250...

In all my installations…flatness, uniform load supports, AND leveling are all equally important. While I believe in the math completely, I can’t trust workmanship with the same conviction so those three factors must be perfect. Oh and thank you! for speaking my language! other than a possible...

Just found sand in the seal of my RSR250...

Yeah. Use tanks is a dice rolls so I am sure leveling may/may not be the only reason. Tank that had been sitting around for too long with residual salt can compromise the seams too. As the water evaporates, the remaining salt crystal can dig themselves into the weakest part of the seams. One...

Just found sand in the seal of my RSR250...

LOL…in my past life as one before I became a reef geek, I did a lot of work in helping to design leveling systems for super huge semiconductor equipment. These equipment would look for semiconductor defects in the sub nanometer range so the leveling system has to be extremely accurate and...

Just found sand in the seal of my RSR250...

That’s not true. Surface flatness is not the same as leveling. But, both are equally important. I don’t have time to make lengthy post. But, in a nutshell, glass aquariums when properly leveled and supported, should have equal pressure on key contact points and should be able to handle slight...

That’s not how you level an aquarium. That’s a recipe for disaster.

Just found sand in the seal of my RSR250...

No matter what brand of rimless tank you’re talking about, in general they are very prone to failure and this is more so on used ones. As you know, I am the largest dealer in the Bay Area and by far have sold the most over the years. And of the 15 years I’ve been in business, I have ZERO seam...

    New 260G Reef Install

That is exactly what he wanted. He is tall. And he doesn’t watch TV much. He had a tank before and so he knew what he wanted and he came to the shop several times to get a feel of the size. He wanted to be able to walk up to the tank and appreciate it like an art on the wall instead of stooping...
