    Eric's 125 build.

Yeah, I'd just remove the strainer....extra work for not much gain...no bueno.

    Eric's 125 build.

Just curious as to why you use a strainer for your main drain pipe. Are snails and fish getting through you weir? Even if they did get through and completely clog your main drain, isn't that what's the secondary and tertiary drains are for until you can open and clear out the main drain? And...

Any particular reason you chose to have the reactor outside vs. inside?

Your no. 1 (overlooked) thing to plan for when going on extended vacation

Add a float switch to turn off skimmer if the 5 gallon bucket fills up.

Are carbon doser v1 any good ?

If you have a trident that strategy will work. Also, a pH probe will alert you faster as it measuring in almost real time vs trident only testing 4-8 times a day.

    Swimming Anemones?!?!

You know, after all these years and reefing, somehow I've never come across this. There are actually anemones that can swim. Man, could you imagine the nem soup you could make in a tank?

Are carbon doser v1 any good ?

Easy way to tell if your CO2 tank is empty if pH keeps going up. Also, on the off chance the regulator breaks or co2 dumps, you'll know about it and can react as needed.

Are carbon doser v1 any good ?

You can, but even if you don't rely on the pH probe for the amount of co2 dosed, I'd personally still have one for failsafe.

Are carbon doser v1 any good ?

As I understand it. No pH probe, no adjustment to co2 amount. It uses a float switch to saturate reactor with co2. You only have to adjust the amount of effluent dripped into tank.

    Randy’s Flock o' Reef Tanks

150 Gallon Tank (Day 69) Tank is chugging along without much fanfare (good thing). Added some more fish out of QT, but had a little tang on tang aggression. An existing yellow tang didn't like another yellow tang encroaching on its turf, but nothing putting up a mirror didn't fix after a day or...

    ISO OG purple monster

I'm not ready for the price tag. ;) I sorta have an idea how much it is and it's prolly re-donk-u-lous. Of course if you find a reasonably price frag, I'd jump on it.

Are carbon doser v1 any good ?

I have four Carbon Dosers (various revisions of the "V1") in service, the longest has been running for 7ish years. A dual stage regular is generally better, but I personally haven't seen the need for me to change yet. Would I repair one? Sure depending on cost.

    Richie's 48x24x12 frag tank

Make sure to have a float valve in the container should you forgot to manually switch it off or don't have an automatic timer setup to switch it off for you. Better yet, just have your ATO configured with float switches and use a controller to trigger filling it to a high sensor or for a period...

    Richie's 48x24x12 frag tank

I wired most of them to run off the 24V accessory port on the apex, though there are some wired to a 12V power block and controlled via a switched outlet.

    Richie's 48x24x12 frag tank

In my experience, those push connect solenoids will eventually not fully close and slowly drip/leak even when power is off. I have opted to switch everything out to one of these two 9-36V/24V 1/2" motorized ball valves. Usually the US Solid brand. https://a.co/d/5XrxWbT...

DBTC: SCOP (Sexy Corals Orange Passion) tenuis

After the dino problem in the frag tank last summer, this thing just seemed to stall completely. So, I thought I'd help it move along and cut it into a few pieces. I cut this Jan 29. And here it is today. Hopefully, this will start to go vertical soon.
