As the first boreal "winter" (is fall actually) World Cup approaches, I made my own decision to not pay attention to it.
FIFA has a stand, at least fictional, to not involve political views and other world issues during the tournament that takes over two years to bring 32 teams to the finals (which are hosted by a one nation typically) but there's absolutely no reason for a nation with such open record of human rights violation to host the event. The moment Qatar was chosen, I'm positive most of the football world were suspicious and questioned Why Qatar?
Not one nation, at least until now, took a stand to have Qatar stripped of such privilege.
Looking forward to 2026 and crossing fingers, a Scandinavian 2030 (I can dream, can't I?)
