I'm looking into getting alvepora because they look so cool! Is there any special care requirements?

They do eat and I’ve been told impacts their color, but I haven’t fed mine much and they’re growing and healthy. However my biggest one turned much less vivid and morphed colors to a translucent green (originally cream with green center) so maybe the color thing is true
They’re an acroporid coral, so it’s in the Acroporidae family along with Acropora, Montipora and others. Compared to gonis which are in the Poritidae family, with, yes, porites. They are different and

do not play nice with each other. Similar but not identical care. I think the consensus is that Alves are the slightly easier of the two
