Hey all,
I was looking to start a bare bottom specific thread so that we can share our experiences, what's worked, what hasn't worked, so that we can learn from each other.
I'll start, I'm in the process of upgrading from a Red Sea 250 to a Waterbox 150.4. As part of my tank planning, something that I want to experiment with is to have an MP10 at the back-bottom corner of my tank to keep the detritus from accumulating; my goal is to have no dead zones, or the best case scenario, dead spots are easily accessible. One challenge that I am coming across is the weirdness of dealing with a center overflow, so I figure I'll have to figure a way to point the pump so that the flow bounces off the rockwork so that it creates a tunnel of flow through the back of the tank. Is the recommendation to build my rockwork in the back so that my mp10's flow can bounce off of the rockwork so that it creates a tunnel of flow that keeps the detritus from building up in the back. Lastly, what ecotech pump mode would you recommend, reef crest, pulse?
Has anyone else run into this challenge? What did you do to make it work for you? In a perfect world, I would have a custom tank with an external overflow, which would've made this way easier, but sometimes you gotta work with what you have.
