I assume he (or someone else?) will be spinning off from CaliKid, which is a good idea.

As an LFS these days, I would focus on finding my niche to be successful. CaliKid is one of my closest LFS and I never go there. Not because it is a bad store, but it does not seem to sell anything I need.

(Self-)quarantined inverts could be an attractive item to sell - Kenny is already the king of quarantined fish so hard to compete with him in this category.

Selling LRS food and showing inventory online is another item that would make me stop by (I do not call).

Generally all items CoralVue sells is appealing to me, specifically Fauna Marin products, Hydros stuff etc, since only Robert I believe sells some of these, and he is often too far away from me.

Lots of stores in Europe have become highly successful in providing ICP consultancy (for a small fee). This bonds with customers and makes them come in store and buy other products.

Copying the model Aquarium Depot runs could also be a good idea (minus ethical concerns, if any, not saying there are), as they seem to be super successful.

I know I have not been asked for my (business) opinion but I care about seeing as many LFS in the bay area thrive as possible, but the the typical non-quarantined fish and coral assortment will not make me stop by, I am afraid.
