Coralline algae turning white...

Basically the right side glass has a ton of coralline forming on it and am fine with it, just noticed today ~1/4 of the glass has turned white; some tiny spots on the rocks too but I was thinking the snails had to do something with it on the rocks. corals are fine, parameters in check, lighting the same; no major changes.
I'd assume white=dead
I was thinking precipitation but is not happening in the tank where you could see it all over, nor the power heads. Something odd to me.
BTW little fingers have no access inside the stand to mess with the sump nor able to reach the top.

Humm, good suggestion; although I dose manually, yesterday I did dose Alk closer to the return pump and one of the return nozzles points towards that part of the glass.

Asterina Star?

I have had asterina population out of control & they made lot of white patches on coralline everywhere, I threw in a team of three harley, they get it under control but still a lot of them remaining.

Mine did that and then did a flake thing for a couple weeks. It has completely bounced back. I did change lights recently, and my alk spiked for a while. The temp also plunged. I think it was general tank out of control syndrome, but as I say it is all shiny purple pink again within a month or so.

I believe it is lighting and in my case, too long in oxygen. When I took out my magnet cleaner (totally purple from coralline) from the aquarium for a day. When I put it back in the tank, the coralline was completely white.
