I picked up a nice small colony of Duncans ... do these guys grow pretty quick if they're not fed? I know they grow very quickly when target fed, but the colony is on the bottom of my relatively deep tank, which makes it a pain to feed. I also found that these guys like medium to generously medium flow, not "low" flow. One of my new favorites!
 
I pick a three head Duncan about 6 months ago and it essentially doubled in that time...with no target feeding. I have it in located in bottom area of my tank with low to moderate flow. I have 400 watt MH.

They seem to do well on their own, my brother has some and grow at a good pace; that reminds me I need to get the clippers and bring couple of heads home :D
