This looks like some kind of sponge to me (ha, like what the heck do I know?) I noticed it growing behind some stuff and see that it's spreading over the fiji LR that it must have come in on about 6 months ago. Tell me it's no problem and I'll be happy. Notice a little tube extending from the network of light yellow filiments by the fire fish tail.

sponge - no issue, not even a boring sponge so even better :)
 
Hey thanks, Gresham. I'm doin' the happy tank dance. I was hoping to move the rock, currently residing in the 20 gal tank to the new tank once the "lights are on". I didn't want to bring something bad into the tank. I'm surprised at how quickly the new tank is filling up with livestock from the older tanks. Every day I find something that wants to move NOW. Today, it was the hammers, blastos, frog spawn and toad stool. They enjoyed the afternoon sun through the low iron glass.

That looks like what I got as a hitch hiker. It grew out to be a very nice addition to the tank. It will crowd any corals near it though.

Here is one of the pieces I have growing. It's about the size of a golfball.
