Got my Vortech today!

Seems like it kicks A@#! What do you think the best setting would be for my setup? The rock closest to the pump is getting pretty blasted, should I put my montis and some acros on there or nothing at all? Which corals can handle the most flow? The pump is on the opposite side of the overflow about 5 inches below the top in the center.

like I said in another post, please dont laugh at the purple up, lol! actually cleaned out my closet! Next to it is some good ol' marc weiss products! They are all almost full to! Take up valuable trash space!

nice setup. As far as the vortech blast, I read from reefcentral that as long as the coral is at least 8" or more from the pump, it would be ok. Some of the corals that I have are actually pretty close to the vortech, about 5-7", and they are still doing very good.

Closest to my 2 vortechs are encrusting montis, purple haze & pokerstar, both are doing very well. Try to position the vortech to one side of the rock, or move the rock to a side a little, so there's a lot of flow past the rock to benefit all the other SPS frags on the middle rock. You could also position a directional pump, like Koralia or MJs, somewhere else in the tank to get more flow in the middle.
