To be clear this isn’t any current or on going issue with hammers. It was more a contuation of a issue a few hammers had while in my 65gallon tank, that I have since moved back to main tank a few weeks ago.
This clearly show two hammers in distress they have been this way since a week or two after first putting them into the 65gallon tank. They were in that condition for 2-3 months. However they were in perfect health before they went into the 65gallon tank.
This shows one hammer in critical condition the others behind it were also in the 65gallon and in poor health but I took them out before they got as bad as the 3 grim looking ones.
Other hammers that were also placed into the 65gallon tank they were looking bad but same as above I pulled them before they got as bad as the others. "The two bad ones are same as in the first photo"
My nicer hammers they were never placed in the 65gallon tank. All my hammers looked just like these health wise before going into 65gallon tank.
*Before today I've done nothing to them at all beyond placing them back into my main tank a few weeks ago.
Today I took the troubled hammers out knocked lots of vermatids of of them and gave them a 15min dip in Seachem reef dip (Iodine based dip.) I than returned them to the tank on same frag racks just slightly different spots on the racks they were on.
I have several pills of Cipro however I haven’t seen any signs of brown jelly stuff I've heard of and seen on videos. The other hammers from the 65gallon tank are starting to look slightly better yet nowhere as nice as they were before putting them into that other tank. Not sure If I should try cripro? If the answer is yes how much to use and for how long?
I have reef roids, benepets, and reef chilli though I haven't used any of it in months. Not sure if spot feeding them would help?
I don't mean to imply I'm considering anything rash by this post. I haven't done anything or touched them in over 3 weeks. I'm only hoping because they have struggled and managed to hold on this long that maybe there is something I could do to help them recover especially the 3 bad looking ones?
