Acantho or scoly
So I bought this coral 6 months ago as a scoly but based on the texture and the way it spreads out it looks like an Acantho to me. Any insights?www.reef2reef.com
I would’ve said Trachy. My curiosity peaked and I’ve learned that Trachyphyllia and Wellsophyllia are now scientifically considered as the same coral. Aka you can call it one or the other, however, Trachyphyllia is the official name that they have been grouped as and apparently Wellsophyllia is no longer scientifically correct.I looked it up again and it came to me as a Wellso. I just didn’t think it was. I appreciate the replies
I don’t. This would be the first Trach/Wellso that Ive had shaped this wayYou really need to look at the skeleton and the septa, do you have any photos of that?
I will take picutures or mine if I can remember to when it's puffed up. Has that shape and can inflat more than some acanthophyllia I've seen at some lfs.I don’t. This would be the first Trach/Wellso that Ive had shaped this way
