Help RTBA Already split, not sure if it's well or not

Just got a my 1st bubble Tip Rose, and I've been keeping it in a container the past week b/c my clown wont leave it alone. So I figured I'd feed it and grow it out a bit larger then release it into the tank.

But today I came home to find it split! Now it's twice as small and I honestly don't know if it's doing ok or not? If I let it go in the tank the clown will molest it till it dies. And I just don't know if they are doing well or not. Sometimes they inflate, sometime they looks deflated. But most of the time they are between inflated/deflated. I just need some advice what should I do?

How can I keep these two alive?

how much flow/ light should they get? I have a standard 90 gallon with a 6 bulb Tek T5 light on it.

So they like a decent amount of flow then?

The one that seems fuller is in the container that has a more slits cut into it. Should I place them closer to the light?

You may try to place covered with one of those strawberry basket kind of thing to keep the clown at margin BTW I like the stripe pattern on it kind of horizontal?; splitting is a good thing, you got your money back already !!

How're they doing now? I would also go easy on the feeding part. But yes, a decent amount of flow is needed. Don't be too worried about them looking inflated/deflated as long as tentacles aren't starting to fall off, etc.

my rose has split over 17 times in a 3 year span. They just don't stop. My gold band maroons go nuts trying to go to them all. mine tend to bite and swim into them like if she is trying to get it to move somewhere else. its seems like she is beating them up but she is actually doing her job and taking care of them. I would release them. If they die which I highly doubt I can sell you one of mine for a good price. these are what mine look like. they are going back to their real color which is a green background and nice red.

I recently got rid of 5 of them. they are sitting at tropical reef aquarium on taravel in SF. I was gonna ask Derek if the store wanted some. Considering that I have a few to spare. The tank is 240 gallons display and a custom 125 gallon refugium / sump. I will post a pic of it tomarrow since my tank is taking off finally. my tank has not looked this good for a while. This is a pic of it about a month or so ago. my tank has since gotten 40 lbs of sand which is funny because I removed a 4 inch sand bed not too long ago. I also started to try SPS corals.

Nice. I had one from T.R. that split, and Derek at OTA offered to buy them, but I traded instead with a BAR Member.
You have a gorgeous display. I have a custom 100 gal that just wasn't big enough to keep 2 large RTBAs in it. with all my critters and rock. Your post confirmed what I thought - 200G+ is best. I have one 8" Macrodoreensis that is thriving and my B&W Clown keeps in line that takes up the back corner of my tank.

Thanks for responding to my inquiry, as I was pretty sure you had a much larger system then I had them in. The bottom photo has the 2 RBTAs on the right side top and bottom of the reef.

you'll notice that the more you look into your tank on a day to day basis the tank will look smaller and smaller every day. then you ask yourself should I go bigger or should I move stuff around. don't move stuff around unless the tank is not thriving. Everytime I move stuff around something bad happens to my tank. As for going bigger also a PITA. you don't realize how much more water needs to be changed and so much more lighting needed and more $$$ involved with stocking the beast. man almost makes me want my 100 gallon again with my 2 20 gallon tanks gravity fed from the system where I kept a blue ring octopus for a month and a rainbow mantis shrimp in the other. this way you get the best of both worlds aggressive and deadly with a community reef. thats it I Am gonna get something mean for my refugium.
