hello everybody havent signed in for a long time. i kno i havent paid the membership, which i will do soon when somebody can pay the membership fee with their paypal (dont have a card) :) Anyways me and my brother in law are really scared about the tank ,because after all the hard work that has been put into this 55 gallon reef tank, ick finaly made it self present and is now attacking the fish. Honestly do not know what to do to get rid of ick. I have google for answers and many suggest to set up a hospital tank and medicate the fish with copper. so i want to see if anybody can advise me in what to do to get the tank ick free. Also i want to see if anybody has a 30 to 40 used gallon tank they want to get rid off. tank can be ugly ;) because i want to set up a quarantine tank to treat the fish. Please someone help me out.
-Thanks, henry

Henry, you need to chill out there buddy, getting angry at our club and its members is not going to get you an answer, I sure as heck am not going to help you out with that attitude.....

Anyone wanna help him out?

Kick-Ich worked for me but killed some corals.
If you can QT the fish you are better off.
With no host Ich will die off in the reef in 60-90 days or less.

Yeah. You need to get your fish out of your tank. You can use a rubbermaid container, it doesn't have to be a tank. Then do the copper or hypo thing. You can do the transfer technique, but if you are changing out 40 gallons per batch, that's a lot of saltwater to go through.

QT them if you can. From there you can use either copper, or hypo-salinity. The latter is a little more work, but it is much easier on the fish than copper is. Should you use the latter just be sure to keep on eye on your pH, and take care to lower the salinity, and even more when you rise it back up.
If you don't remove the fish from your DT, your options are very limited. I would do very frequent water changes, and keep the fish very well fed.
Leaving your DT clear of any fish (and shrimps and things) for at least eight weeks or so would work as well, as the Cryptocaryon would have no host.
