How much activated carbon do you use?

I haven't heard much on this topic other than when to replace it. How much of this are you using in your tanks? I used to fill an entire mesh bag full of carbon in my 28g tank, but now I'm more concerned about conserving the amount I have, so I'm not wasting unreacted carbon every time it needs to be replaced.

Right now I'm not using any (), but I seem to recall a few tablespoons was enough for a tank your size, provided you actually change it when needed. Just my .02 though.

Yeah, I think I remember seeing that 2 tblspns is good for ea. 50 gal tank. It just seems like so little to me.

I use a ton when I need it and pull it out after a few days or none at all.

Yup, I rarely use GAC. Maybe once a year. But when need it I put about 1 cup in a mesh bag.

Hmmm...maybe I should reconsider regularly using carbon then.

I use mine in my phosphate reactor when I change out my media, chuck the phosban, fill reactor solid with GAC, run for a day or two, chuck GAC, replace phosphate media. Luckily my water stays super clear so I'm not shocking my corals with light every time I replace my carbon.
