ID Help - Growth Near Mushroom

Apologies if this isn’t the correct place to ask - I’ve had my green hairy mushroom for a bit now and noticed this brown growth the other week. I left it alone and it’s continue to grow into this plated formation. At first I was concerned that the mushroom may have been dying but the rest of it hasn’t seemed to change even as this plate grows. I moved the rock to get a better angle for these pictures and try to see what was going on and it sure doesn’t seem like dying folds anymore. I haven’t been able to find anything when I did some searching around. Any insight would be appreciated.
