Just joined for 12 mos.very new to the hobby. Only like 5 zoa frags,grandis paly frag, 2 different hammers. Where are these frag swaps hosted? Since ai won't have any to swap is cash or venmo a fair trade? Lol

Welcome! Thanks for joining us! The upcoming swap on Sunday will be in Brisbane. The location usually changes so it’s not always the same location. The last one was in San Jose

Featured - PLEASE RSVP BY 2/21 for the 2/23 Members-Only Frag Swap at Mission Blue

We will be having a members-only frag swap on February 23, 2025, on the peninsula! Due to issues in the last couple frag swaps, we're making some changes going forward, starting with this one. TL;DR usernames on cups will be heavily enforced and there will be quite a bit more scrutiny...

There will be vendors there who you can get coral from to participate. Alternatively you could also just join in starting at the 3rd round of picking if you don’t have coral for entry.

BAR is a great resource, especially when you’re just starting out. The club has helped me out so much. Please feel free to ask questions or ask for help if you need it :)

I won't make it to this one. But definitely will try to attend any in the san jose area. I live in Watsonville. I have been shopping for live fish at high tide aquatics in Oakland because he quarantines his fish prior to sale. Any other reputable LFS closer to me?

Hey! Welcome to BAR and thanks for becoming a supporting member. I'm also in the 831 area, in Salinas. After you have gone through a "probation" period in terms of length of time as a member here, you will have access to borrowing equipment, like the PAR meter and other good stuff. If you ever need any help or want to tag along to various events with me, let me know. I'm in Watsonville often at the Prime shop (@Edgar Chavez ).

And also, don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you need here. There are so many here with decades of experience that will gladly help you along the journey.

Rey I have purchased the majority of my frags from Edgar. We stopped by his shop around Christmas and I got the bug. I think i may have met you there. You help at the shop?

That's awesome! I'm glad you got the bug. I do help him out there when I can. Have you had a chance to stop by recently during his inventory clearance sale events? Crazy deals! I picked up a couple torches last weekend! I have heard whispers of someone named Marcos stealing a coral that I wanted as well. :confused: ahem @MarcosD :p
