LED or Paly Colour Shift?

OK……Can palys change colour throughout the day or do LED colours shift after they’ve been on for awhile? At first I thought is was just me, but this has been going on for a couple of weeks now. When the light first go on there’s this group of palys are a light celery/gold green. After 3 or 4 hours they’re more gold than green. By time the lights o out they’re bright gold/wheat/tan. Are the palys changing or is the LED colour temp shifting? The other corals in the tank don’t seem to change, but there very few things in the tank so far and nothing in this colour range.

I’ll try to get photos tomorrow.

LEDs should not color shift. But it is slightly possible, if they get really hot.
Another possibility is the power supply changing. Is it the same supply for each LED color string?

But my bet is on the palys.

Must be due to the added "u" :p

FWIW I have never seen a paly, zoa, epizoanthig, parazoanthus, etc change color that rapidly. I suspect something is up with the lights.

There's two units with two supplies. Each unit has three strips. There's one unit over each side of the tank, left and right. They, the LEDs, don't seem to be hot. Not at least by touch.

If they are not hot, it is almost certainly not the LEDs themselves.
LEDs do change color slightly with current, which could happen if a power supply is dying.
But to have a noticeable effect, I would think the light should go dim as well.
Plus, everything would change color, not just one coral.
It would be more likely if you had separate supplies for blue and white.

Blame the nunns. We were taught The Queen's English. :p

At my school they said I spelled a word wrong on my spelling test but in fact I had spelled it in Queen's English.

GDawson, I think your palys may be changing colors to give their zooxanthellate maximum amount of light, or it could just be for no reason like my sister's tubeworm that would change from white to green about every minute.
