Lyretail anthias 'divebombing' behavior?

I have a trio of lyretail anthias in my tank; all purchased as female, but one has very obviously been transitioning to male for the past several months.

In the past week or so, the male has started exhibiting new behavior where he'll "divebomb" the females: swim quickly down to them, flash his belly, then pull up. It's not aggressive (no biting or chasing), and the females have started spending time in one bottom corner of the tank where he'll come, spend a few minutes hovering near them, then swim off.

I've heard this may be courtship behavior/spawning behavior, but just curious if anyone's seen something similar. Thanks!

My male started dive bombing since she first started transitioning. I called it roid rage from all the hormones :) Still does every now and then.
