Magnetic Sand?

So I got a bunch of magnets to play with, to try making some diy mag racks with... just foolin around and dropped a ceramic magnet into the sand. I pull it out of the tank and it's still prettymuch covered in sand, which appears to have a very significant amount of magnetic material in it. Anybody notice this before? Cause for concern?

What sand are you using? Our local sand is full of magnetic material.

You won't get any of this with sands from places like Caribsea and Marco Rocks.

I have a tank that I service that has a ton of iron in the sand, at first I was worried about the iron contributing to algae growth, but over the course of a few years it seems as if the iron is pretty stable, my point? YMMV.

I'm using Nature's Ocean Black Beach Sand... it's been in there a year and I haven't noticed any particular issues beyond the stuff you go through starting up any new tank. Ohwell, just surprised me.
