If you can get one that is trained to eat pellets or mysis that is prefered... if not... make sure your tank is mature with a large pod population or you will likely loose it.
Well that can be it's on thread.... :bigsmile: A refugium with no predators in it that is tied into your tank is a great way to go. You can get some pods through RN or get some folks to give you some chaeto out of their fuges that already have pods in them... That's just the start though. Once they start breeding and spreading it will start to provide a supply of pods to your display.
If you choose to get one, it may be wise to QT the fish prior to introducing into your display tank. While being QT'ing, you can train the Mandarin to eat other foods.
ya... i tried that route years ago... sometimes they will learn to eat other foods... sometimes they won't. It they won't and you don't have the pod popultion... they can die. I'd rather find one that's already trained or have a tank where it's a non-issue (large pod pop). MHO...
