Hey all - standing up a new tank in my office - 34gal and I'd like to get this new tank the most stable startup possible.

I'm not in any rush or trying to speed through cycling, I just want to take advantage of the biodiversity and stability that I have in my other tank. I have rocks in the sump of my big tank that have been there for probably a year that I'm going to move over. I also tossed a bag of ceramic balls in there a couple days ago that I'm going to use too.

Is there anything else I should do or think about? Should I fill it with water from a water change in the big tank? Any other recommendations for getting this new tank a rock solid start?

water from existing tank add very little value.
If you’re confident the rocks don’t bring unwanted guests, I that would works . Personally i would soak ceramic balls or other media for 1-2 weeks and just use that in the new tank and leave the rocks alone.
