ORP

how is your ph? i am having problems keeping mine up and i ran across a comment that redox and ph are inversely related. i want to confirm this but haven't gotten to it....

How are you testing and when was the last time you cleaned your probe? 472 seems high without running ozone.
The probe is 18 months old and the AquaController has no calibration.
What is the best way to clean the probe?

Re: PH
I use a CA reactor. My PH is 7.95+- at night and 8.05 day
The ORP was 400-420 for a long time the last three months it has been creeping up slowly.
466 at this moment PH 7.94
Tank is super stable and healthy.

Probes should be changed yearly, and cleaned regularly with an electrode cleaner - ORP probes possibly more often. No idea how to cal the controller.

Honestly, if the tank is thriving and you aren't running ozone I would pull the probe and not even bother monitoring ORP - it'll just make you crazy trying to chase the numbers. :D

Ok, Thanks....
That's kinda what I thought.
The ORP is there but I will ignore it for the most part.

I agree also. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I read too much stuff and end up going way overboard by implementing too many different ideas. My tank usually looks better when I keep it simple.
