Plank auto feeder schedules

Just bought a Plank feeder to replace my old auto feeder. I was wondering what feeding schedules people run on their tanks? I see that most people let the food sit for about an hour to rehydrate before turning the pump on.

Depends on what food you are feeding. In general, you can feed with the same frequency that’s already working well for you.

To see how long to run it for each cycle, run it for a minute (or however long), see how much food it puts out, and compare that with how much you want it to feed.

I leave the recirc pump on 24/7 as recommended. I just turn the flow on the recirc down to the minimum for food that takes longer to rehydrate like freeze dried mysis. That way it hydrates faster than just sitting there, but doesn’t come out before it’s rehydrated like it would on high flow.

Agree with everything John said above. The smaller foods like reef jerky seem to come out first and the large mysis take awhile. I mounted mine next to my return output to give it an extra push too so it doesn't collect in a corner. How many fish are you feeding?
