Plate Coral Eating Red Spot Cardinal - Photo!

Ok picked up 3 red spot cardinal today, one die on the way home, and now my smallest plate coral ate one! Id did not know plates eat fish! Not to mention this is my small plate coral! Is this normal behavior?

I was going to try to pull ut out, but I was afraid I might hurt the coral. Isn't this a big big for a small plate to eat? Do I now need to worry about loosing the coral?

I feed my fungia chuncks of silversides and sand eels weekly.

If one died on the way home, maybe he was weak and the plate just took advantage of that

I was looking for a Fungia in the first post for the longest time
The fish may have been somewhat compromised [or already dead] prior to being snagged. A fungia would have a hard time bringing down a healthy fish IMO.

I've seen healthy small fish taken down by fungiids. The size of the fish compared to the strength of the sting ratio is what really counts.
