Hey all,

I'll post some pics of them later tonight, but my Pulsating Xenia seems to be either growing larger or straining for light...I can't tell for sure :p. That's kind of what I was wondering about, how exactly does Xenia grow?

Does it stretch upwards while budding new arms from the main trunk? Or does the main trunk split as it grows horizontally across a rock?

In my experience, I've seen pulsing Xenia reproduce mainly by what you mentioned
The stalk leans onto another surface, and drops a bud which will soon become a new stalk; then this stalk will do the same thing the first one did ... and this continues until it takes over your tank :)
Xenia will reach for light in less than ideal lighting conditions.
 
Doh, guess mine is reaching for light then. Which is weird, because it's less than 6" from the surface of the water. Thanks for the info Anthony.
 
I have 1X 96 watt 10,000K PC and 1X 96 watt Deep Blue 03 Actinic PC above the tank. It's basically the 2X96 watt kit from AHSupply. The tank is 24" deep.
