Hi everyone,
I am just getting back into the hobby after about a 15 year break. I have a 15 gallon nano tank that I am in the process of transferring into a new Red Sea 33g cube that I just purchased. Excited to learn from the group here.

I’m transferring the livestock live rock from my 15 gallon tank into this one and have the lights on “acclimation” mode for the first two weeks. Would you suggest leaving them off completely? For how long?
Thanks

I personally usually try to cure new rocks or plugs at least two weeks just to get some bacterial film on there, it seems to help reduce nuisance algae early on (and potentially unwanted dinoflagellates). If you can wait before transferring it might prevent some headaches.

The more light the more issues in the beginning. Is this the LED 50 light? Or LED 90?

Not sure what you mean you have acclimation mode on, because this does not tell how much light you are acclimating it to. I assume the worst and suspect you plan to acclimate to 100%? Certainly do not do that in the beginning.

Also, this tank is not yet cycled. So not ready for fish. I suggest adding one of your rocks from 15g with a coral on it. And measure ammonia. Also, do not go higher than 50% with the light for now, for blue, and half for the others like white.

It’s the 50 led. Acclimation dials the whole lighting schedule down to 50%.
