Review of my experience with Inverted Reef

Hello,
Just wanted to post a quick review of my experience with inverted reef. I needed to freshen up my CUC, but wanted to minimize the risk of adding pests or disease to my tank. This was my first time ordering with them. I placed my order with the plan to have them delivered the week after New Years. I got an email from the letting me know the delivery would be delayed initially due to holiday delivery delays which I said was perfect since I was out of town until then. The plan was to ship it out last week. They emailed to let me know it would be delayed again due to the big storms back east. I got an email Sunday asking if they could ship it Monday for a Tuesday delivery. I confirmed, and this morning I received my order. The box was well insulated for the cold weather along with a heat pack. Everything arrived in great shape. This afternoon they sent me another email confirming I received my package and checking to see if everything was OK.

This is pretty awesome customer service!! They kept me updated every step along the way. They emailed me preemptively to keep me updated on the status of my order as opposed to having to reach out first. I would not hesitate to order from them again or to recommend them to anyone looking for inverts.

Thanks again!

Gerry

A good example that you get what you pay for. Very good to know as I have been looking at their website frequently but never ordered from them.

I also ordered from them and got some snails today. Same situation with the storm causing a delay but they communicated every step of the way. Well packed and Id buy from again

Good to hear about the positive experience but jeez! Are ppl really paying nearly $10 for a single cerith or nassarius snail these days? At that price I’d expect them to be flown out same day on a private jet.

Depends. This is similar to the buying QT vs not QT fish. They take some extra steps to reduce the risk of passing along pests or diseases. To me it was worrth it. Others might not think so.

Some of the price differences are not as large, though. A cleaner shrimp quarantined for 50 bucks is not totally outrageous and the margin does not buy economy plus. It depends a bit on the invert (some are indeed unreasonable such as 6 USD for a dove snail).

One can hope as their business grows, they can do larger numbers and offer a better price point while still staying afloat. A few months back I was happy with my order. They included more than I paid for. Bad at counting or a nice little touch, similar to a baker's dozen?

$50 instead of $40 at AC? Not bad
Well there is always shipping cost, but getting cleaner shrimps out of my quarantine tank after a few weeks quarantine is not convenient so this would be appealing to me.

The big elephant in the room though is what we are exactly paying for? For them to let these inverts cook for 6 weeks in 80 F water….with Inkbirds…woohoo….nothing else…easy to replicate at a local store. Similar to my comment in the post regarding Marine collectors. Or one of us does it and we buy from the person. Just need to make sure we are using Inkbird for temp control.
