Hello Bay Area Salt Water community!
My name is Juan and I just started my first saltwater tank. I am a fresh water enthusiast and had tanks for the last 15 years. I have always wanted a salt water aquarium but was always intimidated. After looking at aquariums and YouTube videos for the past two years I finally made the jump and purchased a AIO aquarium. I was looking to purchase a small RedSea AIO but purchased the CoralfFish12G 15gl starter fish tank during this past Black Friday event. I wanted to get in the hobby but not invest so much, for the fact I have 3 kids(2 under 2) and just purchased a house in Castro Valley. I now have the SW Coral itch and have been visiting every aquarium store that I can find. Still have a few more that I need to visit but will get to them eventually. I set my tank up and have had it running since December. I’m already looking to upgrade after involving my family and getting the approval from the wifey. After going through the Craigslist posts looking for new aquariums and possible corals I came across some corals being sold from @popper. He was a very generous, helpful, and kind. He referenced me to the Bar community and asked me to join. Anyways, I still have so much to learn and looking forward to meeting you all and adding my part to this community. I’m not a member but plan on paying my dues to become one.
